Avatar Plot

When his brother is killed in a robbery, paraplegic Marine Jake Sully decides to take his place in a mission on the distant world of Pandora. There he learns of greedy corporate figurehead Parker Selfridge's intentions of driving off the native humanoid "Na'vi" in order to mine for the precious material scattered throughout their rich woodland. In exchange for the spinal surgery that will fix his legs, Jake gathers intel for the cooperating military unit spearheaded by gung-ho Colonel Quaritch, while simultaneously attempting to infiltrate the Na'vi people with the use of an "avatar" identity. While Jake begins to bond with the native tribe and quickly falls in love with the beautiful alien Neytiri, the restless Colonel moves forward with his ruthless extermination tactics, forcing the soldier to take a stand - and fight back in an epic battle for the fate of Pandor...

I didn't watch this movie in theatres because I wanted to wait and watch it on Blu-Ray. I have to say it was worth the wait! The visuals in this movie are jaw-droppingly awesome and the storyline is better than I thought it'd be. It's not only a movie with great visuals that shows James Cameron's creativity in a visual form, but the story does evoke an emotional attachment to the characters as well. There is a lack of special features for a Blu-Ray disc though, but I don't really go through the commentary and stuff so it doesn't really bother me. The movie itself in crystal clear Blu-Ray is all that matters to me.

The best movie I have ever watched ... as seen by the profit it made.James Cameron, who has been working on this film for over 5 years, clearly shows his talent as a director. After directing Titanic and Aliens he extends the limits of fun by creating Avatar.Story takes place on another planet called Pandora. The local inhabitants of Pandora, Na'vis, are trying hard to defend themselves as they struggle to survive the war against humans. An ex-marine tries to earn the Na'vi people's trust and to try and learn more about their kind. Meanwhile the remaining humans are after a special rock, located under the Na'vi territory, that is very expensive back on Earth. This movie is filled with action and adventure, and although it starts off a bit slow, the action builds up and the plot becomes very interesting. This movie has two climax points both within the last hour. This movie you can watch over and over and it still won't get boring. James Cameron has plans for a sequel.Recommended
