Friday Night Lights DVD Plot

Friday Night Lights is an American television series adapted by Peter Berg, Brian Grazer and David Nevins from a book and film of the same name. The series details events surrounding a high school football team based in fictional Dillon, Texas, with particular focus given to Panthers' football coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler), who strives to balance his emphasis on family, his status in a sometimes confrontational community, and his personal ambitions. His family are also central to the show--wife Tami Taylor (Connie Britton), a guidance counselor turned principal at Dillon High, and teenage daughter Julie Taylor (Aimee Teegarden). Moreover, the show uses this small-town backdrop to address many issues facing contemporary Middle America, including school funding, racism, drugs, abortion, and lack of economic opportunities.

Every person associated with this series should be PROUD of the part they played in this production. There are very few video presentations that I could compare, fiction or non-fiction, with "Friday Night Lights"...only "John Adams" comes to mind right away. The writing, acting, casting, camera work, editing and execution at all levels and of every aspect of this series is extraordinary. Season 5 just happens to be the best of the best; as they might say in Dillon, "It don't get no better."
